Nobody is perfect! Even the most successful people have weaknesses. In fact, many successful people have struggled and kept striving for their current positions. They were able to see life in a very specific way, and this is what I’d like to share with you in this blog. The strategies below are how I overcame my personal weaknesses. It all begins with one word: Awareness

Determine Your Weaknesses and Accept Them

  • Denying a weakness actually inhibits you from turning it into a strength

  • How do you determine your weaknesses? It’s a tough topic for everyone. Sometimes we go about our day-to-day lives without realizing our flaws, especially if they are never brought to our attention. Getting guidance from someone close to you whom you trust can lead you in the right direction. Don’t be afraid of avoiding this discussion; it will only make you stronger and more aware of how you can improve yourself.

Develop a Strategy

  • Are you able to link all of your weaknesses to a common flaw? Think bigger picture. For example, if you struggle getting along with many people you may want to consider your weakness being in communication skills. Compile any constructive criticism you’ve been told in the past and try to see if they are related.

Consider Your Strengths

  • Tackle your weaknesses with your skills. You’d be surprised how well this works! Sometimes even improving our strengths supersedes the need to concentrate on working on our weaknesses. Developing this mindset is essential - concentrate on what interests you.

Surround Yourself Who Are Strong in Your Weaknesses

  • Opposites attract? You bet. Our worst enemy is negativity and this can increase if we are constantly with others who bring our our weaknesses because they possess them as well.

Write Everything Down

  • It can be daunting to face our weaknesses, but writing and expressing yourself is such a powerful tool for self-development. This can be an easy exercise you can write down at the end of each day when you reflect - think to yourself, “what did I do today that I could have done differently, or better?” Keep this note and read it the next morning. You will begin to notice how your weaknesses and habits improve. It is all about awareness, as I mentioned before. Write down your key plans and priorities. One of the best ways to increase self-awareness is to write down what you want to do, then track your progress.

Meditate to Practice Self-Awareness

  • This powerful practice will not only clear your mind, but it will help you tap into why you want to make a change and how improving your weaknesses will benefit you and others in your everyday life. It forces you to get deep into your thoughts to help you live in alignment with who you want to be, so you feel more happiness and positivity.

    • Ask yourself:

      • What am I trying to achieve?

      • What is working? What is not working?

      • What can I do specifically to change?

Remember, there is not much difference between someone who is successful and someone who is not – it’s just their approach to life.

I hope all who are reading this blog continue our their day with an open mind to how they can improve themselves; there is always room for improvement and awareness.

"Every weakness within itself contains a strength."
