oral longevity

noun · /ˈɔːr·əl lɒn·ˈdʒɛv·ə·ti/

What I call the discipline of designing dental care for the decades ahead: restoring function, preserving structure, and keeping beauty stable as the mouth ages.

About the Doctor

Science first. A decade of training behind every smile.

Dr. Melanie Silvestrini is an aesthetic dentist with a focus on longevity. Her work centers on functional, biomimetic dentistry: care that works with the body’s own biology to help people age well, beginning with the mouth.

She came to dentistry through a dual degree in biochemistry and chemical biotechnology, then a DMD at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Since then she has completed extensive biomimetic restorative training, built on natural, biocompatible materials, trained through the Misch International Implant Institute, and holds a Fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantology (FICOI). Recognized in Aventura Top Dentists 2026, she lectures and speaks on the approach she calls oral longevity, most recently at Harvard Dental Medicine.

“Dr. Mel is an exceptional dentist. She takes the time to explain, never rushes decisions, and approaches dentistry with both precision and care. It’s rare to find someone who balances technical excellence with such a calm, trustworthy presence.”

The Work

Smiles designed to be lived in.

Porcelain veneers and ceramic restorations designed to mimic nature: biocompatible, metal-free, non-toxic materials, layered to carry light the way natural enamel does. Every photograph below is an actual patient of Dr. Silvestrini.

Nature, restored in ceramic.

The standard is invisibility: restorations that are indistinguishable from a natural, healthy tooth. Conservative preparation, hand-layered porcelain, and materials chosen to be biocompatible and kind to the living tissue around them.

The films are her actual casework: the ceramic detail up close, and the before and after.

The Practice

Advanced dentistry. Four disciplines, one philosophy.

Every case begins with function: the bite, the joint, the biology of the tooth. The aesthetics are designed on that foundation, so they last.

Oral Longevity

The approach I’ve built: care planned on a horizon of decades, not appointments.

Aesthetic Smile Design

Digital smile design and porcelain veneers with artistic precision. Natural perfection, never a template.

Biomimetic & Functional Restoration

Conservative dentistry built on natural, healthy, biocompatible materials: restore the tooth the way nature built it.

Implant Dentistry

Fellowship-trained implantology (FICOI; Misch Institute training) from single tooth to full arch.

The Atelier

Hand-made custom ceramics.

Hand-layered porcelain from her actual casework: biocompatible, metal-free, and built the way nature built the tooth.

Teeth wear. Bites collapse. Bone follows. Most dentistry treats the damage of the year it happens in; the approach I call oral longevity plans for every year after.
